ADVENTURE ROUTE: THE SOUTH COAST LOOP
Base Camp Adventure Rentals
Sooke Potholes Provincial Park - An ideal location to have lunch and take an afternoon swim through a network of entrenched river bedrocks carved from thousands of years worth of glacial activity. The crystal clear water makes this a popular destination during busy summer months so the extra hike up-stream is often worth the effort during July & August!
Port Renfrew - Make stops along the Juan De Fuca trail at Sombrio beach and Botanical beach for surfing and beach-combing.
Saltspring Island - The most well known Gulf Island, travellers can have a hard time leaving this easygoing summer destination. Camp right on the shore line at Ruckle Point and keep an eye out for killer whales and sea lions. Or explore Mount Maxwell Provincial Park and see spectacular views of Vancouver Island, along with Gary oak meadows and salmon bearing creeks. Take the time and interact with local farmers selling fresh organic produce at local markets, or local artists who accomplish world-class creations.
